What’s Your Story- Provision

Reuben Shares out of Matthew 14:13-21
15 When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted
place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go
into the villages and buy themselves food.”
16 But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them
something to eat.”
17 And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”
18 He said, “Bring them here to Me.” 19 Then He commanded the multitudes to sit
down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up
to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the
disciples gave to the multitudes. 20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took
up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. 21 Now those who had
eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

16 But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them
something to eat.”
1) Jesus tells the disciples that they are to give food to the people
a. God calls us to provide for others

17 And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”
18 He said, “Bring them here to Me.”
1) Jesus doesn’t bypass the small supply of the disciples
2) He uses the little bit that they have to do a miracle
a. It doesn’t matter how little we think we have, Jesus will use and
multiply it
b. Provision starts when we bring what we have to the Lord

and the disciples gave to the multitudes.
1) Jesus gave the food back to the disciples so that they could hand it
out.
a. Jesus uses us to bless others, he blesses us so that we can
bless others, this is what it means to be the hands and feet of
Jesus

20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the
fragments that remained
1) Even though there wasn’t enough food initially, it multiplied when they
handed it out
a. Gods provision started when they gave away what they had
2) God provided more than necessary
a. God provides for us in abundance, more than what we need.
There will be left over so that it can be used to blessed others.
