Hope grew up, with her family of 4, on a farm. When she was in grade 9, the family moved and she stayed at the York High Hostel. It was through her parents separation that Hope grew with God on a different level. She says He gave her the strength to get through it. It was also then that her passion for helping others began.
Hope grew up in GMC – where she built herself in Christ. When Pete first told her about the Youth Pastor position she didn’t feel ready to take the lead. When Pete approached her a second time she stayed away from church until 1 Tim 4:12 came to mind. “There was so much power in that verse and so much encouragement from God. My age does not matter. I am able to do this” It was then that she decided to accept the opportunity.
“My hope for the Youth is to help them grow in Christ by unpacking the wonders God has instore for us. I also want to guide them in finding their purpose as I can relate to that struggle. I want to unpack the bible in a relatable and fun way – preaching God’s Word on their level.”
We are delighted to have our home grown Hope as our Youth Pastor.
